MyICA QR code clears Woodlands and Tuas immigration for cars and buses through the September holidays

Travellers crossing Woodlands or Tuas by car, motorcycle, lorry or bus can clear immigration with a MyICA QR code instead of handing over a passport, a useful option for the last stretch of the September school holidays before Term 4 starts on 14 September 2026.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority sets out the method on its QR clearance page for both land checkpoints. The code works for arrival and departure in car, motorcycle, lorry, bus and bus passenger lanes.

Who can use the QR code

Singapore citizens, permanent residents, long-term pass holders and foreign visitors can generate a code, with two clear exceptions. First-time foreign visitors entering Singapore must present a passport. Anyone re-entering on a different passport from their last visit must also use the passport.

Travellers whose passport has never been used for entry into Singapore clear with the passport on that trip, then may use QR codes on later journeys. Automated immigration lanes still need biometrics enrolled with ICA or the Ministry of Manpower.

How to generate the code in MyICA

Download the MyICA app from the App Store or Google Play. Create a profile, then generate an individual or group QR code. Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders can use Singpass or a passport; others use a passport.

At the booth or lane, self-scan the QR code instead of presenting the passport. ICA publishes short video guides for bus passenger halls and for car or motorcycle clearance on the same page.

Holiday window through mid-September

MOE’s Term 3 holidays run from 5 to 13 September 2026, with Term 4 opening on Monday, 14 September. Families still making JB or Malaysia road trips in that window can set up MyICA before joining the queue.

Queue lengths and lane openings change by the hour. Live traffic and checkpoint updates sit on ICA and OneMotoring channels alongside the QR clearance page.
