Gardens by the Bay will light Mid-Autumn lantern displays free of charge from Saturday 12 September to Sunday 27 September 2026, 6pm to 10pm, across Golden Garden, Supertree Grove, Bayfront Plaza and Flower Dome.
Singapore residents with children aged 12 and below also get free Flower Dome admission from 5 to 27 September. Adults still pay the standard Singapore resident Flower Dome rate of S$12. Organised group visits sit outside the kids free window.
What is free and what costs
Outdoor lantern admission is free for the full evening window. The displays include Moonlit Garden and The Path of Wonder in Golden Garden, Waterfall Fantasy and The Garden Celebration at Supertree Grove, The Voyage at Dragonfly Lake, Colourful Blossoms and Gateway of Wonders at Supertree Grove, and the Colonnade of Lights toward the Canopy, where about 1,000 hand-painted community lanterns hang.
The marketplace at Supertree Grove, carnival games and selected Craft Corner activities carry charges. Friends of the Gardens members get 10 per cent off at the marketplace and a S$3 discount with every S$30 spend or top-up at J’Kids Carnival Games, with membership or dated attraction tickets shown at payment.
Craft Corner runs on Sunday 13 September, Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September, and Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September. Attraction ticket holders dated 12 to 27 September get a 1-for-1 on selected craft fees; Friends of the Gardens members get 10 per cent off the standard craft fee.
Kids free in Flower Dome, Lilytopia inside
From 5 to 27 September, Singapore resident children aged 12 and below enter Flower Dome free. The same window covers Lilytopia, the Ancient Egypt floral display inside the Dome, with Mid-Autumn family activities layered on top.
Fenbao Adventure Corner sits at The Baobabs from 9am to 9pm across those dates and is free once you are inside. Free lantern giveaways, while stocks last, run 5pm to 7pm on 19 to 20 September and 26 to 27 September in the South American Garden. DIY lantern painting is free, while stocks last, from 1pm to 3pm on 26 and 27 September, with the last session starting at 2.30pm.
A second Fenbao sand-art session is free with Flower Dome admission on selected September evenings, ages 5 and above, with children under 12 accompanied by an adult. Slots are on-site and first come, first served. Adult Singapore resident Flower Dome tickets remain S$12. Seniors aged 60 and above, and children aged 3 to 12 who are not on the free window, are S$8 each.
Opening night and closing weekend
An LED Lion Dance kicks off the festival at 8.30pm on Saturday 12 September on Supertree Grove Lawn. On the final Sunday, 27 September, the Singapore Big Flag Championship runs 1pm to 7.30pm on the same lawn, then a Dragon Dance at 7.30pm closes the season.
Performances are cancelled in wet weather. Only battery-operated lanterns are allowed in the Gardens. Open flames and lighted candles are not.
How to plan the evening
Lanterns run 6pm to 10pm. Households that want Flower Dome first can use the day admission, then walk the outdoor trail after dark without a second outdoor ticket. Car parks fill quickly; the Gardens asks visitors to take the MRT to Bayfront or Gardens by the Bay.
The free outdoor trail suits mixed-age groups and grandparents who prefer a short loop. Flower Dome’s kids free rule only covers Singapore residents and does not cover organised groups. Marketplace food, carnival rides and paid Craft Corner slots sit outside the free lantern walk, so budget those separately if the evening needs a meal or a craft.
The LED Lion Dance is Saturday 12 September at 8.30pm on Supertree Grove Lawn; the Dragon Dance closes Sunday 27 September at 7.30pm.
