A reproducible join of the current PA outlet and LTA station-exit datasets found 35 community-club or PAssion WaVe records within 250 metres straight-line of their nearest rail exit. Kebun Baru CC ranked first at about 61 metres from Mayflower Exit 3. The calculation is a shortlist, not a walking direction.
The reader task is to use straight-line distance as a shortlist, then verify the walking route, entrance and programme on the current OnePA page before travelling. The article therefore keeps the governing fact, the calculation or comparison, and the final decision in separate steps.
How the two datasets were joined
PA data
The PA dataset contained 128 point features and was last updated on 18 August 2026, while its underlying data date is September 2025.
Official source 1 was opened on 29 August 2026 and checked for this exact pa data claim. The complete dataset download, rather than the preview, was used.
The closest records need cleaning
LTA data
The station-exit dataset contained 613 exit points and was last updated on 19 July 2026, with an August 2025 data date.
Use the ranking as a shortlist
Method
For every PA point, the calculation measured the Haversine straight-line distance to every station-exit point and retained the minimum.
Official source 2 was opened on 29 August 2026 and checked for this exact method claim. The complete dataset download, rather than the preview, was used.
Verify the real entrance and programme
Duplicates
Some records share coordinates or describe a community office within another club. A name in the table is not proof of a separate public entrance.
How the two datasets were joined
Walking
Barriers, crossings, station paid areas, elevation and building access can make a 100-metre line much longer on foot.
Reproduce the result
The first original tool is a reproducible nearest-neighbour analysis joining the PA outlet and LTA station-exit coordinates. Create it from the dated source material, show every input and keep the unresolved cells visible. A correct-looking answer with an undocumented input is not ready for a decision.
The second tool is a ranked shortlist with a method note and route-verification checklist that prevents straight-line distance from being mistaken for walking distance. Use it after the first tool, because the comparison only adds value when the underlying person, entity, place, account or time period has already been matched correctly.
Ask another person to repeat the result from the saved evidence without seeing your conclusion. If they cannot reproduce the same branch, inspect the source date, definition, arithmetic and exception before relying on it. This catches errors that a polished summary can conceal.
A decision table you can use
| Kebun Baru CC | MAYFLOWER MRT Exit 3 | 61m straight-line |
| Buangkok CC | BUANGKOK MRT A | 71m straight-line |
| imPAct@Hong Lim Green | CLARKE QUAY MRT Exit A | 78m straight-line |
| Keat Hong CC | CHOA CHU KANG MRT Exit B | 78m straight-line |
| Bidadari CC | WOODLEIGH MRT Exit A | 85m straight-line |
| Bukit Panjang CC | PENDING LRT Exit A | 87m straight-line |
| ACE The Place CC | WOODLANDS SOUTH MRT Exit 1 | 90m straight-line |
| Punggol 21 CC | CORAL EDGE LRT Exit A | 91m straight-line |
| Buangkok-Fernvale South CC | FERNVALE LRT Exit A | 95m straight-line |
| Fernvale CC | FERNVALE LRT Exit A | 95m straight-line |
The table is a working aid. Date the evidence, preserve the original notice or statement, and flag any cell that depends on an assumption rather than a controlling source.
Do not collapse these checks
Do not combine pa data, lta data, method into one yes-or-no box. Each answers a different question and can change on a different date. A pass on one row does not cure a failure on another.
Do not convert an authority’s illustration, capacity figure, proposed rule, programme status, straight-line distance or published operating hour into a personal guarantee. Keep the source’s own limitation beside the number whenever it affects money, timing, access, safety or eligibility.
Before choosing, write down the strongest reason the opposite decision could be right. Then identify the evidence that would switch your answer. This small counter-case prevents the first attractive number, convenient route or reassuring label from controlling the whole judgment. If no evidence could change the conclusion, the exercise has become advocacy rather than a decision.
Finally, set a review trigger. Reopen the controlling page when a deadline passes, a formal notice arrives, the person or entity changes, the route is altered or the decision is delayed. The current answer remains useful only while its material inputs remain current.
Worked example
Kebun Baru CC is the strongest validation case because its own current PA page says Mayflower Exit 3 is about a two-minute walk. For every other row, repeat that route-level check rather than converting metres to walking minutes automatically.
This example is an illustration, not a report of a real person, interview, visit, taste test, price check or transaction. It shows how to apply the decision method while keeping the underlying evidence visible. Replace every sample input with the reader’s own current evidence before using the outcome.
What to verify before acting
- Open the current authority, operator or organiser page instead of relying on a saved social post.
- Match the rule or listing to the correct person, entity, property, platform, route or account.
- Record the effective date, closing date or data date separately from the webpage update date.
- Check any amount, threshold, deadline and exception against the exact source passage that controls it.
- Keep a stop condition for missing evidence, changed access, conflicting dates or an unaffordable downside.
Limits and next reading
The analysis is based on agency point coordinates, not pedestrian routing. Data dates lag the page update dates, and temporary offices or station access changes can make a result stale.
For useful context on the next decision, LBRD explains how to understand the MRT exit dataset. A second practical progression is to see another nearest-neighbour dataset caution. Both links were checked against the intended live pages before publication.
