Singapore are through. The Lions booked their place in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 semi-finals on Friday, holding Indonesia to a 1-1 draw at Jalan Besar to finish second in Group A. Defending champions Vietnam took top spot with a 3-1 win over Cambodia, so both Group A sides move on to the last four.
Ilhan Fandi keeps the Lions ticking
Indonesia struck first through Ragnar Oratmangoen on 47 minutes, but Singapore responded when Ilhan Fandi levelled on 66 minutes, a goal that ultimately secured the point Singapore needed. It was the kind of composed, resilient display that has defined the Lions’ group campaign, and it sends Gavin Lee’s side into the knockout rounds with belief.
How Group A finished
Vietnam top the group after their win over Cambodia, with Singapore joining them in second. For the Lions, reaching the semi-finals of a regional tournament is a real marker of progress, and it sets up a mouth-watering last-four tie once the Group B picture is complete.
The Group B deciders to watch
The other two semi-final places are settled by Saturday’s final round of Group B matches. Thailand face Myanmar at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok (8pm local / 1pm GMT), while Malaysia take on the Philippines at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium (9pm local / 1pm GMT). Seven-time champions Thailand have been in ruthless form, and Malaysia have also impressed, so the identity of Singapore and Vietnam’s semi-final opponents should become clear by Saturday night.
