Are the GupShup and SHIKAR offers still running?
No. GupShup’s Pani Poori Face-Off was a single Saturday event on 25 July, run in hourly heats from noon to 6pm at S$15 entry. SHIKAR’s six-course anniversary menu at S$178++, with an optional S$85++ cocktail pairing, ran for a four-week window that closed 15 August. Both restaurants are still trading; it is only these two dated offers that have lapsed.
What did each event actually involve?
The GupShup challenge was a two-minute speed-eating format: pay S$15, take a booked heat, eat as many pani pooris as you can before time runs out, with a hotel stay as the advertised top prize. It ran at GupShup, 301 Serangoon Road, The Serangoon House.
SHIKAR’s menu was a six-course tasting progression led by Chef Jolly, built around Maine lobster tail, charcoal-cooked New Zealand Maimoa lamb chops, Queensland Wagyu short-rib biryani with foie gras sauce, and an Alphonso mango dessert, served at SHIKAR, 2 Cook Street, Maxwell Reserve.
Are GupShup and SHIKAR still open for regular dining?
Yes, both restaurants continue normal service. GupShup’s own site lists daily service from noon to 2.30pm and 5pm to 10pm, reachable at +65 6978 5177. SHIKAR lists lunch from noon to 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm to 10pm daily, at +65 6978 5175. Neither restaurant’s site currently lists a replacement event or anniversary menu at the time of this update.
What’s not yet known
Whether GupShup or SHIKAR plan a follow-up event has not been announced on either restaurant’s own site or Marriott’s offers page as of 26 August.
