Singapore’s total fertility rate fell to a new low of 0.87 in 2025. For many couples, the path to parenthood has become a more considered, often more difficult journey than previous generations knew. Against this backdrop, Thomson Fertility Singapore has quietly expanded — opening a second clinic, this time at United Square in the Novena medical precinct.
The new centre joins Thomson Fertility’s existing Singapore operations, offering a full suite of fertility services under one roof in one of the city’s most established medical corridors. It is a practical, well-located option for couples who have been thinking about fertility assessment or treatment but may have put it off.

What the Centre Offers
Led by Dr Tan Heng Hao, the United Square centre provides fertility assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services, supported by a team of specialists, embryologists, and nurses. The clinic’s capabilities include:
- AI-assisted embryo assessment — using artificial intelligence to evaluate embryo quality during IVF cycles
- Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) — screening embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before transfer
- DNA fragmentation testing — assessing sperm DNA integrity, which can affect fertilisation rates and embryo development
Why Now
Singapore’s declining birth rate has been a persistent concern. But beyond national statistics, fertility is a deeply personal matter — one that many couples find themselves navigating later in life, often after years of prioritising careers, housing, and financial stability. Many are also simply unaware of what fertility assessments can tell them, or when the right time to start asking those questions might be.
The opening of this second centre brings these services closer to more Singaporeans, particularly those already based in or near the Novena medical hub.
