Singapore can appear under more than one historic exemption basis. The 2026 reform aims to remove overlapping privileges and assign one route per country or territory. Use the current official country list rather than assuming the broadest old scheme survives.

Verify close to departure

The permitted-until date recorded at entry is the practical deadline for that admission. A return ticket does not extend it. Inspect the stamp or digital record before leaving immigration and ask immediately if it appears wrong.
Example: A traveller sees an old page promising 60 days and a newer report saying 30 days. The safe method is to identify the Gazette effective date, check Singapore on the live Thai MFA list, and plan to the entry stamp rather than either headline.
Do not build a trip around an unconfirmed extension
An extension is a separate immigration decision with its own eligibility and fee. If the trip needs more days than the verified visa-free period, apply for the appropriate visa before travel.
Carry a valid passport, onward plan, accommodation details and funds evidence required by the current entry guidance. A visa exemption waives a visa requirement; it does not guarantee admission.
