Poly EAE 2026 offers are released on Tuesday, 8 September 2026 at 2pm, and the window to accept closes three days later. That is a short runway for a decision that locks a teenager into one course at one polytechnic. Plenty of families treat the offer email as the finish line. It is not, and the fine print is where people get caught.
Selection interviews and aptitude tests ran from 6 July to 1 September 2026, so most applicants are simply waiting now. The five polytechnics admit about 20% of each academic year intake through this route, according to the official Poly EAE FAQs. Here is what actually happens next, and the rules that bite.
Poly EAE 2026 Key Dates, In Order
- Application stage for O-Level students: 25 June to 1 July 2026 (closed)
- Selection stage, interviews and aptitude tests: 6 July to 1 September 2026
- Offer and acceptance stage: 8 September 2026, 2pm to 11 September 2026, 11.59pm
- Withdrawal stage: 14 September to 16 October 2026, 11.59pm
- Working adults get a longer acceptance window, 8 September 2026, 2pm to 16 October 2026, 11.59pm
Notification of the posting results goes out by email and SMS, but you confirm acceptance inside the Poly EAE portal. A non-response is treated as a rejection of the offer. Nobody will call to check whether you saw the message.
A Conditional Offer Is Not A Confirmed Place
This is the part that surprises people in January. The offer stays conditional until the GCE O-Level results are released, and it only converts if the grades hold up.
- A net ELR2B2 aggregate score of 26 points or better
- 28 points or better instead, if the offer is for a Nursing course
- The minimum entry requirements (MERs) for that specific diploma, published on each polytechnic’s website
- Results may be combined from no more than two sittings of the GCE O-Level examination
ELR2B2 means English Language, two subjects relevant to the course applied for, and two other best subjects. Miss the mark and the conditional offer is revoked automatically when results come out. The student is then eligible for the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and other polytechnic admissions exercises. So it is a setback, not a dead end.
One Offer Only, And Your June Ranking Picks It
Applicants could list up to three course choices, but only one offer is possible. If a student is assessed as suitable for more than one choice, the polytechnics issue the course ranked highest among the three. The order typed in June quietly decides the outcome in September.
Course-level allowances are not uniform either. Most diplomas cap aptitude-based admissions at 30% of the course intake, while courses where passion counts for more, such as Early Childhood, Social Work and Design, are allowed up to 50%.
The DSA-JC Clash That Disqualifies You From Both
Applying to Poly EAE and the Direct School Admission to Junior College (DSA-JC) Exercise at the same time is allowed. Accepting both offers is not. Students who accept both are disqualified from both exercises, unless they reject one before the acceptance stage ends on 11 September 2026.
Some kiasu parents will tell a child to accept both and sort it out later. Please do not. There is no appeal counter after that deadline.
Changed Your Mind? 16 October Is The Real Deadline
Accepting an offer on 11 September is still reversible, but only through the portal and only until 16 October 2026, 11.59pm. The withdrawal stage opens on 14 September. Anyone who accepts and then does nothing is deemed to have confirmed.
Once confirmed, the student cannot take part in JAE, the Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) or any other polytechnic admissions exercise. Transferring courses within or between polytechnics is also off the table. If your child is still working out what they enjoy, JAE in January is the more forgiving route.
ITE Students And Working Adults Have Different Numbers
- Final-year Nitec students: final net GPA of 3.5, including CCA bonus points
- Final-year Higher Nitec students: final net GPA of 2.5, including CCA bonus points
- Nitec in Nursing holders applying for the Diploma in Nursing: minimum GPA of 3.0
- Working adults: Singapore Citizens and PRs with at least two years of relevant work experience, with the offer confirmed once accepted by 16 October 2026
Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) students should read their offer twice. Accepting and confirming a Poly EAE place voids the DPP guarantee of a place in a mapped diploma course. Rejecting the offer keeps that guarantee intact for JPAE.
One Change Coming For The 2028 Intake
The GCE O-Level is being replaced by the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). MOE has said the academic criteria for early admission will follow the Post-Secondary Admissions Exercise for SEC students. Sec 4 students sitting the O-Level this year are not affected.
