Ten years in the making, Singapore’s wildlife and nature destination has finally come full circle. The Mandai Wildlife Reserve officially marked its grand opening on 29 May 2026, completing a decade-long transformation with the launch of Rainforest Wild Adventure East — the final piece in a 126-hectare precinct that is now the most comprehensive wildlife hub in Southeast Asia.

The occasion was officiated by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Ms Grace Fu, alongside Mandai Wildlife Group management, board members, and representatives from Temasek Holdings and Singapore Tourism Board. Close to 300 guests — including industry and education partners, and more than 200 students — gathered to witness the milestone at what now welcomes 4.5 million local and international visitors annually.
A Decade in the Making
What began with Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo in the 1970s has evolved into a multi-park destination encompassing five wildlife parks, two nature-themed attractions, and public green spaces. The journey involved multiple milestones — from the wildlife bridge in 2019 to the opening of Bird Paradise in 2023, Rainforest Wild Adventure West in March 2025, and Exploria in March 2026 — before culminating in today’s grand opening.
Group CEO Mr Bennett Neo said: “When the early parks first opened in the 1970s, they were founded on the simple idea of helping people connect with wildlife and nature. That remains at the core of what we do today. What has changed is the scale of what we can offer, from visitor experiences to conservation and education programmes.”

What’s New at Rainforest Wild Adventure East
Asia’s first adventure-based wildlife park now spans two zones — East and West — covering 20 hectares of naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa. The East zone introduces a host of new experiences:
- Canopy Glider — soar above the forest canopy for sweeping aerial views of the reserve
- Primate Climb — a rope-course landmark with a bird’s-eye view of Diana monkeys in their habitat below
- Adventure+ and Black Adventure — high-adrenaline options that take wildlife encounters further
- Strangler Fig — an 11-metre climbing structure overlooking the Diana monkey and pygmy hippo habitat

The zone also introduces Mandai Wildlife Centre, the precinct’s third animal hospital, operated by conservation arm Mandai Nature. It treats and rehabilitates rescued native wildlife — including Sunda pangolins, colugos, pythons and bats — with a public viewing gallery open now and full veterinary access from July 2026.

Glamping in the Wild — Two Overnight Stays
Mandai Wildlife Group has launched Glamping in the Wild as the umbrella identity for its permanent glamping experiences. The newly opened Crocodile Lodge, nestled within Rainforest Wild Adventure East, overlooks the crocodile habitat and features 20 tents sleeping up to four guests each. Stays include Adventure+ experiences across both zones, meals, and exclusive after-dark programmes such as survival knot-tying and film screenings under the stars. Bookings are open now, with stays starting from 12 June 2026.
Crocodile Lodge joins Reservoir Retreat (formerly Colugo Camp), offering guests two distinct overnight experiences to choose from within the reserve.

Grand Opening Promotions for Residents
To celebrate the grand opening, local residents can look forward to a limited-time two-attractions visit pass with up to 30% savings. The deal lets you pair Singapore Zoo or Rainforest Wild Adventure as your main attraction with a second park — River Wonders, Bird Paradise, Exploria or Curiosity Cove. The promotion runs from 1 June to 31 August 2026.
Residents also enjoy complimentary entry during their birthday month, discounts at retail and F&B outlets, and concession pricing for seniors and youths. Members of social service agencies continue to enjoy year-round complimentary access.

Imagine Wilder: The New Destination Campaign
Alongside the grand opening, Mandai Wildlife Group launched Imagine Wilder, a destination brand campaign inviting locals and visitors to experience the full breadth of the reserve — from up-close wildlife encounters and adventure-led exploration to nature-inspired dining and glamping stays. New community partnerships with Families for Life Council, youth organisation For Real Co., and the National Youth Council will deepen the reserve’s connection with Singaporeans of all ages.
A new arrangement with Zig by ComfortDelGro will also see selected drivers trained as Mandai ambassador-guides, with promotional codes for rides to the precinct coming in the months ahead.
