ESER is a free five-year equipment-registration route for eligible short-range, low-power and specified telecom equipment.
The applicant must be a local ACRA entity with a Telecommunication Dealer Licence and must self-declare conformity.
Classify the device
Bluetooth, WLAN, RFID and other listed categories may fit ESER, while cellular and base-station equipment use different routes. Record frequencies, output power, interfaces and intended use. (IMDA equipment registration overview)
The company must be locally registered and hold the relevant dealer licence. Keep UEN and licence details current before applying.

Own the declaration
Automated approval does not mean IMDA reviewed the test report before registration. The supplier remains responsible for an accurate conformity assessment. (IMDA IRIS ESER application)
Use acceptable test reports or certification, technical specifications, product picture and brochure. The model identifiers must match across every document.
Example: A Bluetooth product may fit ESER if its radio parameters and evidence meet the technical specification. A cellular handset does not become ESER-eligible merely because it also uses Bluetooth.
Understand validity
New and modified-model ESER registrations are free and valid five years under the live application page. Schedule renewal and reassess changes that require a new registration.
IMDA may request the supporting test evidence after registration. Keep the complete technical file available, not only the registration email.
