Gardens BioBlitz runs this morning at Bay South with free outreach booths to noon

Gardens by the Bay is running BioBlitz 2026 this morning, Sunday 20 September, from 7.30am to 12.30pm at Bay South. The free citizen-science morning pairs guided wildlife surveys with partner outreach booths on Singapore’s urban biodiversity.

Survey registration is closed. Visitors can still drop by the outreach booths from 9am to 12.30pm without a survey slot.

What is on the schedule

Bird surveys run 8am to 9.30am in three groups of up to 15. After a short break, butterfly and dragonfly surveys run 10am to 11.30am, again in groups of up to 15. Results are compiled and shared from 11.30am to 12.30pm.

Partners include the Bird Society of Singapore, the Herpetological Society of Singapore, WWF Singapore, NTU’s Asian School of the Environment and Gardens nature guides. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment’s SG Eco Fund.

The Gardens says the morning suits all ages and is best for younger adults and above. Children under 13 need an adult with them. Wet weather can pause or reschedule surveys, with notice at least 45 minutes before the meeting time.

Photos taken during BioBlitz may be shortlisted for a later exhibition at the Gardens’ Sustainability Gallery. BioBlitz wraps at 12.30pm on Sunday 20 September 2026 at Bay South.
