Food Opera at ION Orchard reopens on Monday, 28 September 2026 after a three-month makeover, with 24 stalls, 18 new tenants and about 600 seats dressed as 1970s Old Orchard Road storefronts, Food Opera said on 24 September.
The basement food hall at #B4-03/04, 2 Orchard Turn is aiming for a nostalgia walk rather than a standard atrium fit-out. Stalls are styled like period shopfronts, from barber and bookstore looks to photo studio and salon fronts.
Heritage hawkers in a food hall
Six heritage names are making a food-hall debut. Ming Chung White Lor Mee (93 years) brings Henghua braised noodles. Hillman Restaurant (63 years) adds claypot cooking and paper-wrapped chicken. Wah Eng Beef Noodles (78 years) serves Hainanese dry beef noodles with thick gravy.
Also new to the hall: Hakka Bond Express (57 years), First Street Fried Prawn Noodles (38 years), and Berempah Bros. Live fishball-making returns at LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles at selected times through the day.
Orchid Gallery, bakery and coffee
Orchid Gallery is Food Opera’s first retail corner inside the hall, with five home-grown names including Thye Moh Chan and Irvins. Treasure Bakery opens with British-leaning bakes given a local twist, among them beef shepherd’s pie and Earl Grey cranberry rolls.
Toast Box adds live coffee roasting and a Nanyang Supremo blend exclusive to this outlet. Returning tenants include Padang Padang, Shou Yi Fried Fritters and Chow Zan Dessert.
Award-winning names in the new line-up include Berempah Bros, founded by MasterChef Singapore Season 2 winner Derek Cheong, plus Michelin-recognised Ah Er Herbal Soup and MP Thai. Sunny Island Bar joins the drink side of the hall.
