Review of the UGREEN Uno 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station

Yes that is a mouthful. UGREEN Uno 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station. UGREEN sent us one for review. Someone in the office was tasked to do a review. Unknowingly, I had a number of UGREEN products on my desk. I never realised. I like the inconspicuous nature of their designs. It’s that dark coloured object that just sits by your desk.

I bought this charger because it looked nice. Oh and I do not like white accessories. Unless absolutely unavoidable, the darker colours always appeal to me more.

Anyway the UGREEN Uno 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station looks good don’t you think?

Anyway Qi2 allows charging speeds of up to 15 watts. This is the same speed as MagSafe. I tested it on my iPhone 16 Pro Max and it took about 30 minutes to charge from 0% to about 40%.

One thing to note is that this does not come with a port to charge your Apple Watch. Instead, there is a 5 watt USB-C port.

You can purchase the Apple Watch charger separately. I personally feel that adding the Apple Watch Charger would increase the bulkiness of the overall set up.

Alone, the UGreen Uno looks extremely sleek. It will look elegant on any desk.

Even the slot to hold the iPods is curved such that the iPods rests in the cavity.

So what am I comparing this to? We have the Anker Cube and the Apple MagSafe Duo in the office.

The Anker Cube is literally a perfect cube. It is heavy. The UGREEN Uno is slightly lighter and in my opinion, has a more elegant dimension. It sits taller and thus the iPhone Pro Max phones are slightly more elevated off the desk. In terms of build quality, they are both comparable. Amazingly, the Apple MagSafe Duo feels flimsy. It also stains easily and after a while, the white gains a tinge of pale yellow.

That is how the Apple Watch charger looks like.

I tried hooking up the Anker Cube to the 5W charging port and my Apple Watch on the Anker Cube did start to charge.

These are all three chargers in their most compact state. I prefer the softer edges of the UGREEN. I use the Anker Cube daily and it sits on my desk at home. There is something about the round edges that just feels more aesthetically pleasing.

Another plus point is price. I shelled out about $180 for my Anker Cube. The Apple MagSafe Duo was about $200 at the point of purchase. I believe these have come down in price over time. However, the UGREEN is going for less than $90. That is a very compelling proposition especially for those who have an iPhone and AirPods but do not have an Apple Watch.

The two big reasons to go for the UGREEN Uno charger is its price and design. I am impressed…

    Here is my unboxing video:

Wait, do we have to return the review unit? It looks so good on my work desk…

    Yours sincerely,

    Daryl
