With Singapore and China now enjoying mutual visa-free access, interest in visiting China has surged. With that, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism brought the ‘Charm of Jiangsu’ Cultural Tourism Carnival to Serangoon NEX from October 25-27, immersing Singaporeans in the beauty and traditions of Jiangsu Province.
Seems like a magazine front cover, right? In fact, at the event, I got myself dressed in traditional Chinese Hanfu, fully embracing the cultural experience.
The event featured captivating performances, including traditional guzheng music by Singaporean musician Lim Teck Yi and thrilling martial arts displays by the Singapore International Wushu Cultural Centre and Malaysia’s TEDA Wushu Team.
A vibrant cultural bazaar offered hands-on experiences with Jiangsu’s heritage crafts like lacquer fans, clay dolls, and calligraphy.
For potential travelers, there was a tour package sharing session detailing Jiangsu’s top attractions, food, and accommodations.
Visitors could also consult with representatives for travel tips and information.
This year’s carnival brought a taste of Jiangsu’s rich culture to Singapore, inspiring many to consider a future visit to China’s beautiful Jiangsu Province.
Having already visited Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai, I know there’s so much more to explore in China. Even on social media, there’s an abundance of content showcasing China’s breathtaking scenery, which only fuels my desire to visit more of this beautiful country in the future.
Time to collect more information and start planning a trip to Jiangsu Province!
