MR25 Ultramarathon 2026: five MacRitchie loops by 30 November to qualify

Entries for the MR25 Ultramarathon 2026 close on 30 November 2026, at S$40 for MacRitchie Runners 25 members and S$70 for non-members, and the qualifying round is run on your own day at MacRitchie Reservoir. Finish five 10.5km loops between 7am and 7pm and you are a finisher; the top six in each category go through to the finals on Sunday 27 December 2026.

On the club’s leaderboard to 27 October, the two Open categories for non-members are not yet full. Four men and two women have posted qualifying runs, so a non-member who logs five loops before the deadline would, on that board, sit inside the top six.

How the MR25 Ultramarathon qualifying round works

The qualifier is virtual and runs from 1 August to 30 November 2026. Each loop starts at the Amenities Centre, home of GINK-GO Café, and runs anti-clockwise along the Northern Trail, up the road to the Ranger Station, past Jelutong Tower and the golf course, and back along Lornie Trail. Runners are asked to walk, not run, on the boardwalk.

  • Window: first loop starts at or after 7am, last loop finished before 7pm, on a single day
  • Finisher: five loops or more, which is 52.5km
  • Attempts: unlimited, on any day in the qualifying period
  • Support: none; the race is self-supported
  • Proof: a Strava record submitted by 11.59pm on the day of the attempt

There is no shorter category, so five loops in a day is the entry standard for everyone.

How runners are ranked

Each runner’s best single-day attempt counts. Rankings go by loops completed first, then by the date of the attempt, with earlier dates ranked higher, and then by elapsed time from the start of the first loop to the end of the last. A late seven-loop run therefore ranks below an earlier seven-loop run, however fast it is.

On the 27 October board, the leading mark in all four categories is seven loops, or 73.5km. In the Men’s Open, Henry Yang leads with seven loops from 8 August, and in the Women’s Open, Annie Teo leads with seven from 1 August. The Men’s Closed has seven finishers and the Women’s Closed six. The leaderboard is refreshed weekly and posted by 11.59pm on the Wednesday after each week closes.

Fees, payment and what finishers get

  • Men’s Closed and Women’s Closed (MR25 members): S$40
  • Men’s Open and Women’s Open (non-members): S$70
  • Payment: PayNow or bank transfer, with a screenshot attached to the registration form

Finishers receive a T-shirt and a souvenir, collected on 6 December or 27 December 2026; venue and time are sent by email, and one person may collect for several runners. The event page sets out no refund or cancellation policy, so check with the organisers before paying.

The finals on 27 December

Finalists are told by email by 4 December. The final runs from 7am to 7pm on the same loop, and a finalist needs at least five loops to count as a finisher. Invited guests join the qualifiers, with no more than 30 runners in all. If a category is short of qualifiers, the organising committee may pick from the other eligible runners.

Prize money is the same in every category: S$120 and a trophy for first, S$100 and a medal for second, and S$80 and a medal for third. Runners after something shorter this season have Run For Hope 2026 and the Singapore International Marathon 2026.
