NUS Psychology has opened Singapore’s first accelerated clinical psychology pathway, a five-year Concurrent Degree Programme that folds the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) and the Master of Psychology (Clinical) into one track instead of the usual seven-year route. NUS launched the CDP-CP in August 2026 for Cohort 2026 onwards, and keeps the standalone Master’s for graduates who prefer work experience first.

The department plans a cohort of 10 places, with room to grow. Of more than 60 Psychology majors who registered interest for the first run, only a cohort of 10 is expected to be admitted.
How the five years work
Years 1 to 3 stay undergraduate, with a tighter clinical focus than the ordinary Psychology major: Introduction to Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology and Psychological Assessment move earlier, and a six-month supervised clinical internship sits inside the undergraduate years. Years 4 and 5 are the same Master of Psychology (Clinical) coursework, research project and placements as the standalone Master’s.
Up to 36 graduate units can count toward both degrees. Students who leave the CDP-CP can still graduate with the B.Soc.Sci. (Honours) if they meet that degree’s rules.
Grades, internship and fees
Admission needs a GPA of at least 4.3 and a Psychology subject GPA of at least 4.5, an average of A- across named clinical courses with no grade below B+, a pass on the undergraduate clinical internship, then a clinical interview and role-play. Continuation needs a GPA of 3.50.
Years 1 to 3 follow subsidised undergraduate fees. Years 4 and 5 follow the self-financed Master’s fees, without MOE Tuition Fee Loan or other financial aid. For Cohort 2026, the internship selection interview fee is S$55 before GST (S$59.95 with GST), and clinical supervision and related internship fees are S$3,624.50 before GST (S$3,950.71 with GST).
Interest registration for Cohort 2026 closed on 12 July 2026. Future cohorts follow the same structure on the NUS Psychology CDP-CP page. Singaporeans, permanent residents and international students who major in Psychology at NUS can enter the pipeline; non-Psychology majors cannot.
