The ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup returns for its 2026/27 Group Stage this week, and Lion City Sailors open their campaign at home on Thursday against Vietnamese side Công An Hà Nôi FC, with head coach Mark Jackson eyeing an early statement of intent as the Sailors chase continental silverware alongside their domestic title defence.
Jackson, who took over the Sailors’ dugout earlier this year and oversaw their AFC Champions League Two campaign, will be looking to carry that continental experience into the region’s flagship club competition. The Sailors were drawn into a group alongside Vietnamese and Indonesian opposition after the play-off round concluded earlier this season.
