Singapore mixed 4x100m relay sets 41.19s national record for fourth at Asian Games

Singapore’s mixed 4x100m relay of Tate Tan, Elizabeth-Ann Tan, Marc Brian Louis and Shanti Pereira clocked a national record 41.19 seconds for fourth at Paloma Mizuho Stadium on Tuesday 29 September, closing the athletics programme at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

“We were having so much fun out there. It’s my first time running with them together and I think we all did a good job,” said Louis.

“The national record is just crazy, we totally smashed the national record,” said Pereira. “Being part of the relay is always just a very rewarding experience and this is the only team element we have, so I think we really treasure it a lot.”

They had already lowered the mark to 41.66 seconds in the heats on 28 September, with Mark Lee in the line-up that day. Louis had pulled out of the 200m and the men’s 4x100m with a hamstring strain, then recovered in time for the mixed final. Pereira, gold medallist in the women’s 200m and silver in the 100m at these Games, ran the anchor.

Two athletics medals, then the record

Athletics leaves Japan with Pereira’s 200m gold and 100m silver. The men’s 4x100m reached the final and finished eighth in 39.88 seconds after a 39.34 season-best in the heats. The women’s 4x100m posted 45.12 seconds in their heat. Vanessa Lee set a women’s 10,000m national record of 36:00.95; Kampton Kam cleared 2.10m for eighth in the high jump final.
