Children’s Day 2026 falls on Friday 2 October. It is a school holiday for MOE Kindergartens, primary schools and the primary sections of full schools only. It is not a public holiday, secondary schools and junior colleges still have lessons, and parents do not automatically get the day off.
MOE’s 2026 calendar puts Term IV from 14 September to 20 November, with no October break. Youth Day and Teachers’ Day already passed; Children’s Day is the remaining scheduled school holiday before year-end. In 2027, Children’s Day is Friday 8 October under the same primary-only rule.
Free cone with a Promise Bookmark
McDonald’s Singapore runs its Children’s Day Family Moments activity from 24 September to 7 October 2026. Children ask staff for a Promise Bookmark, choose how they want to celebrate, sign it, and show the sheet for a free vanilla cone. The bookmark is not available at McDonald’s NTU, Temasek Polytechnic, Caltex Dunearn, Shell Tampines, Shell Hougang and Shell Havelock.
Octoburst, Babies’ Proms and Bloomyard
Octoburst! returns free at Esplanade on Friday 2 October as a children’s arts day outdoors and indoors across the centre. SSO Babies’ Proms play Victoria Concert Hall on 2 October at 4pm and 3 October at 11am and 2pm, with tickets at S$45 and S$35 before SISTIC fees. Children aged 2 and above need a ticket; under-twos enter free with a ticketed adult. The show is recommended for ages 6 and below.
Bloomyard by Graphic Rewilding stays at IMBA, Gardens by the Bay, through 25 October 2026. Resident adult tickets start from S$18 and child tickets (ages 3 to 12) from S$13; under-3s enter free. Children under 12 need an accompanying adult.
Children’s Museum free window
Children’s Museum Singapore is free for all visitors from 29 September to 12 November 2026, with advance online booking still required. Singapore Citizens and PRs were already free on normal days with NRIC checks. During this window Level 1 is open and Level 2 is closed; the museum is shut 5 to 7 October and on 13 November ahead of a new exhibition on 14 November.
