Mid-Autumn lantern nights in Singapore this fortnight split across three official maps: Gardens by the Bay through 27 September, Lights by the Lake at Jurong Lake Gardens from 19 September, and a Chinatown format that drops the big street lanterns on Eu Tong Sen Street and New Bridge Road.
Gardens by the Bay
Gardens by the Bay’s Mid-Autumn Festival runs 12 to 27 September 2026, 6pm to 10pm, free admission for the outdoor lantern trail across Golden Garden, Supertree Grove, Bayfront Plaza and Flower Dome.
The Colonnade of Lights puts 1,000 hand-painted lanterns on show. Marketplace and carnival games at Supertree Grove carry charges. Craft Corner sessions run on selected weekends with fees for some activities. Only battery-operated lanterns are allowed; open flame is banned. Bayfront or Gardens by the Bay MRT is the published way in. Kids aged 12 and below who are Singapore residents get free Flower Dome entry from 5 to 27 September under the Gardens’ Mid-Autumn note; accompanying adults pay standard rates.
Lights by the Lake, Jurong
NParks’ Lights by the Lake at Jurong Lake Gardens runs 19 to 27 September 2026, 6.30pm to 10.30pm daily. Larger-than-life lantern displays continue until 4 October. Entry to the gardens programme is free; open flames and sparklers are not allowed. The gardens are smoke-free.
Chinatown without the big street lanterns
The Chinatown Festival Committee is not installing large-format lanterns along Eu Tong Sen Street or New Bridge Road this year after 24 years of that format. Community lanterns instead build at Kreta Ayer Square and Banda Street from 11 September to 4 October, organised with Kreta Ayer–Kim Seng grassroots groups.
The main night is “Light a Lantern, Share Your Blessing” at 6pm on 19 September, with a community procession, mooncake and tea, and lantern riddles in four languages. Neighbourhood editions also run at River Place, Havelock View and Chin Swee-Hong Lim. Chinese New Year street lanterns are unchanged under the committee’s plan.
Mid-Autumn Festival day itself is Friday, 25 September 2026. For giant installations this year, the published outdoor options are Gardens by the Bay and Jurong Lake Gardens, not the Chinatown arterial roads.
