The Land Transport Authority will close roads in the Marina Centre and Padang area from 12.01am on 7 October 2026 through 5.30am on 13 October 2026 for the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, which races from 9 to 11 October.
LTA set out the seven-day window in a 4 September 2026 news release. The agency said the closures cover set-up and teardown of race infrastructure and urged the public and ticket holders to use public transport.
When roads close and reopen
Affected roads shut from 12.01am on Wednesday, 7 October. LTA said they will reopen in phases after the race weekend, with all roads fully open by 5.30am on Tuesday, 13 October.
Selected corridors reopen in the morning peak on 7, 8, 9 and 12 October, from 5.30am to 10am, including stretches toward Orchard Road, Shenton Way and Marina Boulevard. Motorists can still reach Marina Centre via Rochor Road to Temasek Boulevard, or use a timed Access Lane on Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway or Temasek Boulevard, with buses and vehicles on W, X and Y plates barred from that lane.
MRT and buses on race nights
Train services extend on event nights from 9 to 11 October. Last trains on the North-South and East-West Lines leave City Hall at about 12.30am on 9 and 10 October, and 12.45am on 11 October. Other lines, except the Changi Airport branch, also run later, with selected connecting buses matching the longer hours.
LTA’s road access guide keeps Suntec City, Marina Square and Millenia Walk car parks open on published access routes, while Singapore Flyer, Esplanade, Singapore Recreation Club, Singapore Cricket Club and Empress Place car parks stay closed to the public. Taxis and private hire cars remain options, with private hire limited to designated pick-up and drop-off points.
