The Land Transport Authority said on Friday 4 September 2026 that construction of the Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link station at Woodlands North is complete, keeping the cross-border line on track for passenger service in 2027.

LTA posted photos of the finished station on Facebook the same day. The underground stop connects to Thomson-East Coast Line Woodlands North, so passengers can transfer through a shared Basement 1 concourse.
CIQ layout and the 4km shuttle
Singapore immigration sits at Basement 1. Malaysia’s customs, immigration and quarantine facilities sit at Basement 2. Travellers clear immigration once before boarding and do not clear again on arrival in Johor Bahru under the co-location arrangement.
Once passenger service starts, the 4km shuttle between Woodlands North and Bukit Chagar will run at up to 80km/h and can carry up to 10,000 passengers an hour in each direction. The ride is about five minutes.

Testing continues; fares and open date still open
LTA said station foundations had to cut through a high volume of hard rock. Contractors used high-capacity drilling and more than 600 controlled rock blasts, timed when TEL trains had left the station, to limit vibration for MRT passengers.
Malaysia Transport Minister Anthony Loke said on 18 August 2026 that the RTS Link had entered critical testing and commissioning. He also said fares and the actual start date of operations are still under discussion between both countries and will be announced jointly.
Woodlands North RTS station construction is complete as of 4 September 2026, with testing and commissioning still under way before opening.
