Lion City Sailors host Tampines Rovers in the Playback Community Shield 2026/27 on Sunday 6 September 2026 at 7.30pm at Jalan Besar Stadium, with interim head coach Varo Moreno in charge after the club parted ways with Jesus Casas on 1 September.
The club said assistant coach Moreno will take the first team until further notice. No further reason was published. The Singapore Premier League lists the fixture as the season curtain-raiser.
Tickets and gates
SPL’s Playback title-sponsor release prices grandstand seats at S$15 for adults and S$5 for concessions (ages 3 to 12, and 60 and above). Sailors fans sit closer to the North Gate; Tampines fans closer to the South Gate.
Neutral Zone seats in Gallery East are S$10 for adults and S$5 for concessions. A S$1 booking fee applies per ticket, with a 10-ticket cap per transaction. Tickets are sold via spl.sg and Trip.com.
Matchday and broadcast
SPL lists a Playback Fanzone and Carnival along King George’s Avenue near the South Gate, with merchandise booths, an exclusive matchday zine and food that can be brought into the stadium. Banners and flags that meet security guidelines are allowed.
The match is listed live on Singtel TV and StarHub TV, and on Mediacorp meWATCH and the SPL YouTube channel.
What follows for the Sailors
Casas had been appointed in February 2026. Moreno’s interim brief starts with the Community Shield, five days after the parting statement.
The Sailors’ next listed outing is against Hougang United on Tuesday 8 September at 7.30pm at Bedok Stadium, before the SPL Matchday 1 trip to Hougang at Bishan Stadium on Saturday 12 September at 7.30pm, both on the club fixtures board.
Defending champions Sailors meet last season’s runners-up Tampines for the first silverware of 2026/27 under Moreno’s interim charge.
