IKEA Singapore is selling KOMPISHÄNG, a 13-piece portable home collection, as a limited range. The pine door hanger is S$19.90 and hangs from the top of a door without drilling or screws.
Inter IKEA said in July the range would launch in August. The Singapore catalogue now lists all 13 pieces, from S$9.90 for a red book-end to S$169 for the 80×200 cm mattress that folds into a pouffe.
Inter IKEA said the range is made from solid pine, powder-coated steel and canvas, and was designed to be packed and set up again in a shared flat, a studio or a first long-term home.
This is a different list from the KONSTRUNDA art objects and HÖSTAGILLE tableware IKEA Singapore put on sale from 1 September. KOMPISHÄNG is built for a rental or a small HDB where nails in the wall are not the plan.
A door that takes the hooks
The pine hanger (article 806.288.08) is 50×60 cm, with 12 steel hooks. Maximum load is 2kg per hook. IKEA lists the fit for a door 4 cm thick. Designer Mikael Axelsson. A beige canvas hanger at S$24.90 is the other no-drill option on the same list.
Hanging storage with three compartments is S$16.90. It hangs on a clothes rail, zips shut, and IKEA lists a 72-litre capacity. Shoulder straps are on the spec so the same piece can be carried as a bag. The pine table-top mirror at S$14.90 stands on a fold-out foot or hangs; slots in the frame are for photos or notes, without extra brackets.
A desk that folds
The green pine desk is S$119 for a 100×55 cm top, 75 cm high. IKEA lists a solid pine surface, steel legs in green, a handle under the top, and hooks on the side for a bag. Designer Constance Thiessoz. Inter IKEA said the desk is meant to stand after two pulls and two clicks. The product page says the folded desk can be pushed under a bed. The packed carton is listed at 10.01kg. The matching red pine side table, 50 cm across, is S$49.90, folds flat, and is listed for a 10kg load.
A birch stool set is S$55 for two. Height 46 cm, seat diameter 32 cm, tested for 100kg. Designer Lukas Albrektsson. The published trick is stacking them when they are not seats, or standing one on the other as a plant pedestal. They will not replace a dining set in a 4-room living room.
The 80 cm mattress
The mattress-pouffe is S$169. Unfolded it is 80×200 cm and 13 cm thick, with pocket springs and a washable cover. Designers E Strandmark and M Axelsson. Packed, IKEA lists the carton at 13.91kg. Shoulder straps are part of the cover. An 80 cm width is a single, not a couple’s bed. A DVALA fitted sheet in 80×200 cm is listed at S$19.90.
The rest of the 13: a jute plant pot at S$19.90, a shopping bag on wheels at S$19.90, a beige back cushion at S$29.90, and a standing pine mirror at S$79.90. Designer Wiebke Braasch said IKEA wanted pieces that could be moved with the body, without a car, and that the jute pot was meant to carry a plant without extra packaging. IKEA of Sweden product developer Dora Ding said the brief was portable pieces that still look permanent.

What the pieces will not do
The mattress is the wrong buy if the household needs a 150×200 cm bed that stays down. The door hanger is the wrong buy if 2kg a hook will not take wet bags and umbrellas, or if the door is not 4 cm thick. The desk is the wrong buy if the work is a desktop tower and two monitors; 100×55 cm is a laptop table.
