Singaporeans no longer need to fly to Tokyo to shop one of Japan’s most sought-after loungewear labels. From 1 September to 30 September 2026, cult-favourite gelato pique makes its first-ever Singapore appearance with a month-long pop-up at LUMINE SINGAPORE, the Japanese retailer’s global flagship at Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Known in Japan as a “wearable dessert” brand, gelato pique has built a devoted following on TikTok and across Japanese and Korean social media, where unboxing and try-on clips of its impossibly soft pieces rack up thousands of shares. For the Singapore debut, LUMINE has curated 84 pieces from the brand’s summer collection, chosen for our climate, spanning womenswear, menswear, kids, babies, couple sets, bedding, and even cat and dog ranges.
What makes gelato pique so hyped
The brand is famous for its “fuwa fuwa” and “moko moko” fabrics, roughly translating to fluffy and ultra-soft, a texture meant to feel like a scoop of gelato against the skin. Its dessert-inspired signature GELATO fabric is made to be reminiscent of a fluffy cake sponge, and it kick-started the boom in cosy, fluffy loungewear in Japan.

gelato pique comes from Tokyo’s Mash Style Lab, the company behind SNIDEL and FRAY I.D, both longstanding labels in LUMINE SINGAPORE’s line-up. Visitors to the pop-up will be able to touch and try the full range in person, and see exactly why the brand went viral.

Free ice cream and kawaii photo spots
To celebrate the launch, homegrown gelato favourite Creamier will be giving out complimentary ice cream over the opening weekend, on 5 and 6 September 2026, while stocks last. Shoppers can also explore several Instagram-worthy photo spots styled in the brand’s recognisable “kawaii” aesthetic, which makes the visit as much a photo stop as a shopping trip. If you enjoy limited-run drops like Common Rare Singapore 2026, this one is worth a look.

A family affair, from babywear to bedding
gelato pique’s loungewear has long been a popular gift for teens and adults in Japan, but its baby and maternity collections are the real cult items. The baby ponchos, in particular, are a well-loved gift, made with the brand’s signature soft materials and playful designs. The Singapore pop-up features the summer “Ice Bear” motif, along with the popular Gradient Border Poncho.
