GetActive! Singapore 2026 Returns for 11th Edition This National Day

Singapore’s largest islandwide celebration of sport is back. GetActive! Singapore 2026 (GASG) returned for its 11th edition, officially launched by Sport Singapore (SportSG) at Our Tampines Hub on 1 August 2026, rallying Singaporeans to mark the nation’s 61st birthday through two weekends of sport, community festivals and friendly competition.

Running from 25 July to 8 August 2026, GASG offers sporting experiences and community events across the island, giving Singaporeans of every age a reason to get moving in the lead-up to National Day.

The launch drew close to 1,000 participants, who took part in a National Day Observance Ceremony, singing the National Anthem and reciting the National Pledge before moving into the GetActive! Singapore Workout 2026: Dance of the Nation, choreographed to this year’s National Day theme songs.

Guest-of-Honour Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth and for Transport, joined participants for the sport try-outs alongside SportSG leadership and community partners.

Something for every generation

This year’s programme leans into inclusivity and community. Youth@Play brought close to 800 tertiary students together for a day of friendly competition, with Learn-to-Play workshops in skateboarding, sport climbing and pickleball, three of the fastest-growing activities among younger Singaporeans.

Over at Red Swastika School, ActiveX Playdate @ GASG paired seniors from five Active Ageing Centres with students from six East-zone primary schools for an afternoon of intergenerational sport, a reminder that keeping active is a shared, all-ages pursuit.

Play Inclusive puts inclusion centre stage

Also held on launch day at Singapore Expo was Play Inclusive, Singapore’s largest inclusive sport competition, which brought together close to 3,500 participants and volunteers, including nearly 2,100 athletes and unified partners. It forms part of SportSG’s broader push to make sport accessible for persons with disabilities, and the second grant call for the Enabling Sports Fund (ESF) opened the same day.
