Voices of Singapore Festival 2026: 11th Edition Guide

Singapore’s largest non-competitive choral festival is back. The Voices of Singapore Festival (VOSF) returns for its 11th edition from 5 to 9 September 2026, gathering choirs of all ages for five days of performances, workshops and shared music-making – no scoreboards, no rankings, just singing.

Five days, four venues

This year’s festival spreads across the historic CHIJMES Hall, the Capitol Singapore Outdoor Plaza and VOS Capitol Studios, and adds a new home for the first time – the VOS Choral Hub at the Enabling Village, extending the programme to VOS’ base for inclusive choral work. In all, expect close to 50 programmes spanning concerts, galas, recitals, outdoor showcases, workshops and choir exchanges.

Three world-renowned guest conductors

The festival is helmed by three international names. Dr Jeffery Redding (USA), Director of Choral Activities at the University of Central Florida, is a 2019 Grammy Music Educator Award recipient. He is joined by Mak Chi Hoe (Malaysia), Artistic Director of the Young Choral Academy and co-founder of the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod, and Lieu Ryland-Jones (Estonia), named Estonia’s Young Conductor of the Year in 2023.

Four specially formed Festival Choruses – Children, Youth, Community and Virtuosi – will rehearse and perform under them, with selected rehearsals opened to the public so audiences can watch the artistic process up close.

Inclusive by design

The festival continues to champion access. Silver Exchanges bring together participants from VOS Community Silver Voices at Active Ageing Centres, while Starlight Exchanges unite SPED school choirs, mainstream partners and VOS Starlight Voices to celebrate neurodiversity through shared performance. Choirs can also sit ABRSM Choral Exams at VOS Capitol Studios.
