Gardens by the Bay will fill Flower Dome with more than 5,000 sunflowers for Sunflower Surprise: Garden by the Ocean, its first Portuguese-themed floral display, from Friday 9 October to Monday 9 November 2026.
The sunflowers span 20 varieties, including supersized ones that can grow up to 1.8m tall. The display is open from 9am to 9pm daily, with last admission to Flower Dome at 8.30pm.
From Lisbon to the coast
The route starts in Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhoods, then moves to the striped houses of the fishing town Costa Nova, a 6m-tall Farol de Belém lighthouse and the bow of a traditional Portuguese carrack.
Further inland, vineyards, olive groves and cork oaks sit beside recreated Porto shopfronts and Lisbon’s street kiosks.
The display is presented with the Embassy of Portugal in Singapore and supported by AICEP, the Portuguese trade and investment agency. It marks 45 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Portugal.
Tickets and a craft day
Flower Dome admission applies. Singapore Resident rates are S$12 for adults, and S$8 each for seniors aged 60 and above and children aged 3 to 12. Flower Dome is closed for maintenance on Tuesday 6 October.
On Saturday 17 October, a Get Crafty! session by Esty Art in Flower Dome’s Australian Garden has visitors paint a sunflower-themed decorative tray, from 11am to 5pm.
