This coming weekend is the first complimentary lantern giveaway weekend inside Flower Dome for Gardens by the Bay’s Mid-Autumn Festival. Free lanterns are handed out in the South American Garden from 5pm to 7pm on 19 and 20 September 2026, while stocks last, then again on 26 and 27 September.
Outdoor lantern displays across Golden Garden, Supertree Grove, Bayfront Plaza and Flower Dome stay free from 6pm to 10pm through Sunday, 27 September. Gardens by the Bay also keeps Singapore-resident children aged 12 and below on free Flower Dome entry from 5 to 27 September, with adults paying the standard resident rate and organised groups excluded.
How to plan this weekend
A workable loop is Flower Dome in the late afternoon for Lilytopia and the 5pm lantern queue, then the free outdoor trail after 6pm. Flower Dome still needs an adult ticket even when the child is free. Fenbao Adventure Corner at The Baobabs runs 9am to 9pm across the Mid-Autumn window and is free once you are inside the Dome.
Only battery-operated lanterns are allowed outdoors. Marketplace food, carnival rides and paid Craft Corner slots at Supertree Grove and the Colonnade carry separate charges. Car parks fill quickly; the Gardens asks visitors to take the MRT to Bayfront or Gardens by the Bay.
Later dates still on the board
DIY lantern painting inside Flower Dome’s South American Garden is free on 26 and 27 September from 1pm to 3pm, with the last session starting at 2.30pm, while stocks last. The Singapore Big Flag Championship and a Dragon Dance sit on 27 September at Supertree Grove Lawn if you are building a final-weekend plan rather than this Saturday’s giveaway run.
The free outdoor lantern window closes on 27 September 2026. After that weekend, the Mid-Autumn giveaways and the kids’ Flower Dome free entry both end.
