The 10th Smart Port Challenge is open, and this edition is framed less as an idea contest and more as a scaling pathway for maritime start-ups.
MPA says applications for SPC 2026 are open at PIER71 until 15 June 2026, with the Grand Finale scheduled for 11 November 2026.
What Changes In 2026
The announcement says shortlisted start-ups will go through a 10-week SPC Accelerate programme with mentorship, workshops and market-validation opportunities.
MPA also highlights new support connections to mentors and investors, alongside thematic prizes sponsored by companies including ABS, OCBC, PSA Singapore and PSA Ventures, and RINA.
Why It Matters For Maritime Singapore
PIER71 has supported nearly 170 start-ups since 2018, and MPA says these start-ups have collectively raised more than S$150 million in funding.
After the programme, start-ups may apply for MPA’s Maritime Innovation and Technology Fund for proof-of-concept, pilot projects and product development. The fund has supported 68 start-ups and more than 30 maritime technology deployments.
