Good morning. We woke up to an excellent breakfast with a nice view.
The plan today is light. We intend to visit Beppu’s “hells” (地獄, jigoku) and then adjourn to our 3rd and last hotel in Beppu. seven spectacular hot springs for viewing rather than bathing, displaying steaming ponds of various colours, bubbling mud pools, and other hydrothermal activities.
Hells of Beppu
We only planned time for 2-3 sites near each other as we felt it was repetitive.
It wasn’t good that the sky started drizzling too.
Cafe & Hall & Gallery FUJIYA HANAYAMOMO
We sought shelter at a cafe built within a preserved house. I forgot to take a picture of the cake and matcha. Below is the seat we took, which had a nice view of the zen garden outside.
It’s a nice, quaint little cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and the peace and quiet of the surroundings.
After a bit of relaxation, it was time to make our way to the hotel for check-in.
Amane Resort Seikai
Enjoying a glass of welcome drink as we await our room to be ready.
I think this is probably the most luxurious hotel stay for this trip. It’s gorgeous and the view of the sea is amazing. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone of you who are planning a trip to Beppu.
Dinner: Omakase at Otto e Sette Oita
This restaurant serves fusion food cooked with the freshest ingredients using the steam from the hot springs.
This is a must-visit, and you should make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
My wife, who is very critical of food, gives this place two thumbs up.
We both agreed this was the most memorable meal of this trip.
