I found another nice braised duck place to visit. Many who love a good plate of braised duck rice would already know about this shop, but this is my first time trying it.
My usual go-to would be Sean Kee Duck Rice at Lorong 35 Geylang. Plus, I remember my grandmother used to cook braised duck so yummy and tender, and I could never find any other versions that come close.
Located along Desker Road, parking can be challenging on weekdays during peak hours.
We ordered duck meat for two persons, spare parts (intestines) and a mixture of eggs, beancurds and peanuts.
My friend went with the yam rice while I had the porridge.
The duck meat was very tender, as expected from a good version of braised duck. The taste was delicious. It is more towards the home-cooked feel and has a less solid herbal taste than Geylang’s version.
My verdict:
Food: 3.5/5
Would I return? Yes! A good braised duck rice is much harder to find than chicken rice. It is recommended to avoid lunch hours, especially if you drive!
