Dry Chilli Mee Pok and Home Made Fishballs – Ru Ji Kitchen (Redhill)

I met a friend for breakfast at Redhill Food Center. I wanted to try a fried carrot cake stall recommended by my friend, but it was closed (I shall do that again).

I saw this busy stall selling fishball noodles. It seemed to be featured on many food blogs and mainstream media.

The wait was manageable. I ordered the dry mee pok with chilli. (as recommended).

This was what I got for the $4 portion.

The noodles had a firm, chewy text to it, not too soggy. It was coated with the fragrant chilli oil and sambal.

I think the highlight of the stall is their bouncy fishballs. These are handmade, and the taste and texture are pleasantly different from those you get off supermarket shelves.

All in all, it was a delightful bowl of noodles for breakfast.

My verdict:

Taste: 3.5/5 (I would go back for the fishballs)
